Various interface modules are available to connect the WCS reading heads to standard interfaces, such as:
- Parallel
- SSI
- Profibus DP
- DeviceNet
- CANopen
- Ethernet
- Interbus-S
- ProfiNet
- Modbus-RTU
Up to four reading heads can be connected simultaneously to all the interface modules apart from the SSI interface.
Safety Guaranteed
The proven WCS is also available for applications that require a safety level up to SIL 3/PL e. For this purpose, two safeWCS/PUS read heads are combined with the safe evaluation unit (Position Unit Safe, PUS). The safe evaluation unit acts as a safe gateway to the fieldbus: It processes the redundant signals from the read heads, creates a safe position value, and derives a safe speed value from it. It also transmits diagnostic data that is available as a basis for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
